With little fanfare -- and no announcement from Los Tigres -- Connecticut had five all-stars for next week's New York-Penn League All-Star Game in Staten Island, N.Y.
P.J. Polk, Julio Rodriguez, Matt Perry, Ryan Enos and James Robbins.
the whole deal is strange. I went looking for some sort of press release on the NYP website earlier today and couldn't find one...then I googled it and still nothing.....
I'm probably going to upset a bunch of people, but who cares about a All-Star game consisting of players from teams in a 13 week developmental league? Does the NY/Penn league office reap a financial windfall from the event?
It seems to me that a few extra games would be more beneficial for the players progress.

ReplyDeleteI got an e-mail within the last hour from the Tigers. But again, whether it's the Tigers' fault or the league's, who knows if they don't say anything.
