Hmmm?

Figures. Only on Friday the 13th would the Tigers' bus break down en route from Jamestown. As a result, the team won't make it back to Dodd in time for tonight's game, which has been postponed.

Only in Norwich.

  1. Joe,

Why isn't this considered a forfeit? I remember the Yanks ran the chance of that the day of Munson's funeral in Ohio with their game vs the O's later that day.

  2. Greg, Call it the kindness and consideration of the Doubledays (Auburn, that is). Minor league teams know this very situation can easily befall them and wouldn't want the forfeiture hanging over their heads.

Life in the minors just isn't as cutthroat at the bigs.

Now, had this been some bizarre one-game deal, maybe a make-up game from a rain out and it was the only possible shot at playing the game, then you might have seen the Tigers forfeit the game.

Think about this for a moment: What if that happened and the Tigers missed the playoffs by 1/2 a game?

I might be looking for a new official bus carrier for the Connecticut Tigers.
